Further carbon steel cuts by ThyssenKrupp
ThyssenKrupp now expects its cuts in carbon steel production in the current fiscal year (ending 30 September) to total 830,000 tonnes, say late unconfirmed reports as Steel Business Briefing went to press. This is 130,000t up on previously announced reductions.
The steelmaker trimmed 500,000t off steel production in Q2, and announced a reduction of 200,000t for Q3. Two weeks ago TK said it would not go for any other cuts this quarter in addition those already announced.
